For those children who are savvy enough to survive, they will live from day-to-day by whatever means necessary. What was witnessed during a recent visit included children from age four to fifteen: ![]() Sniffing model glue to escape reality ![]() Coma-like sleeping on the sidewalk during mid-day It is natural to expect the ones who make it to adulthood to perpetuate the same behavior they experience as a child. ![]() Digging through dumpsters of rancid trash food ![]() Washing windshields at intersections to meet tip quotas for their adult "managers" ![]() Sharing the day's find at makeshift camps on the riverbanks Our Mission Statement The Jovenes en Camino Project ministers to the physical and spiritual needs of homeless Honduran children, using a foundation of Christian principles to educate and foster a healthy self-esteem. Our goal is to return these children into their communities as young men that love God and His Son Jesus Christ. The by-product of their faith is being a productive Honduran citizens, breaking the cycle of hopelessness. |
