JOVENES TEAMS UP WITH TORCH

Two weeks ago our Nashville based Torch Mission Team asked the older boys from Jovenes to assist in the construction of a home in a nearby community. Several boys got a chance flex their muscle, show off their woodworking skills, and experience the joy of working in the selfless spirit of service and devotion to others.

As a bright Honduran sun beat down heavily on the steep and rugged hillside they jumped at the chance to lend a hand and toiled happily with the gringos. They worked side by side with boys their own age and with some of the Families who sponsor them. Together we built a sturdy house for a needy family complete with bunk beds and two windows while God provided the priceless view. It was certainly a special opportunity for the boys and the evidence could be found in their eagerness to help and most obviously in their glowing smiles.

Many of our group who give so generously of themselves to the children of Jovenes en Camino were blessed to see the children pouring out their own hearts and generously working for the good of others. Perhaps this is the greatest repayment of all.
